Simple Oncimmume Blood Test for Cancer–Identification Six years before Tumor Develops

Posted In News on June 9, 2010 One Comment

An uncomplicated blood test for cancer could pick up the disease 6 years prior to the tumor forming. The person who invented this blood test for cancer is an expert from the Nottingham Univ., Prof. John Robertson who has put in around fifteen years of hard work and effort.

The oncimmume blood test might be able to offer crucial early caveats of cancer afflicting the breasts and lungs – both of which have been shown to cause fifty thousand fatalities on a yearly basis.

Cancer when picked up in the most preliminary staging is easier to cure and could recoup scores of lives and sparing several people the agony and suffering of extended ailment.

In spite of progress being made in medications and technologies yet cancer continues to take its toll on nearly 300000 people from Britain on a yearly basis and killing over half of them. This blood test for cancer is due to be obtainable in Britain in the subsequent year.

There have been particularly pitiable records of cancer treatment in the UK and women patients with a greater likelihood of death as compared to majority of the W. Europe countries.

In several scenarios, people with cancer are asymptomatic till the later stages of cancer which means that the disease fails to be identified till the time matters have gone out of hand.

Blood test for cancerDiagnostics methods like scan and biopsy are designed to spot tumors which have by then developed. However, the novel test could spot whether something is off beam prior to the disease having any opportunity to inflict any damage.

Oncimmume test detects tell-tale indications of a sprouting cancer in the blood sample. Signs produced by the immune system could be identified nearly 5 years prior to a cancer being detected. All this is possible with merely 2 teaspoonfuls of blood sample.

Prof. Robertson, a breast cancer expert stated that they are beginning to comprehend carcinogenesis in a manner which was not the case earlier – checking what proteins are becoming erroneous and the manner in which the immune system is responding to this change. He further added that the body appears to be quite vocal about presence of cancer even prior to the tumor being identified.

The blood testing kit is doubly good at identifying lung cancers as what a CAT scan would do and accurately picks up breast cancer in younger females similar to a mammogram.

Lung cancer test is been widely used in the United States and is expected to become obtainable to people in Britain by the initial part of the next year and intended to target veteran smokers and other people believed to be at elevated risk of developing the disease.

People that get an affirmative outcome, indicating a cancer budding in the trunk region would be under close supervision by their physicians which would allow them to undergo treatment as quickly as the tumor begins to surface.

On the similar lines, a blood test for earlier detection of breast cancer is also expected in the concluding part of the current year. The kit would be costing around three hundred pounds and in the initial stages would be obtainable solely privately.

Study investigators caveat that bigger-scaled studies would be necessary for proving its value prior to it being employed by the health services.
